Syntactic Sugar: additions to the syntax of a language which do not affect its expressiveness but make it "sweeter" for humans to use. Syntactic sugar gives the programmer an alternative way of coding that is more succinct or more like some familiar notation. It does not affect the expressiveness of the formalism

Someday, I want to found a synth-pop band and call it Syntactic Sugar. It has the perfect amount of alliterated ping. I will write super happy love songs that make references to computery things. It will be awesome.

As for now, I needed a new lj name on a rather short notice. I wanted "jenesaisquoi", which was actually recently purged, but livejournal makes you pay $15 to buy a purged account, and I didn't care enough to pay money for a name. Thus, I resorted to syntactic-sugar.

I will probably recount quite a bit of sketchiness here, so all other entries will be friends only.
